Ramen Ya

Okay, okay I know I’ve been gone a while. The other day Mum sent me an email (through this blog directly) to remind me that I hadn’t put up a blog post since June. Which is…um…almost correct. It was September but I cheated with a cross-promoted Milk Bar Mag post.

So I apologise for the blog neglect. But I am back. With a new camera. So you can look forward to less words and more pictures. Which let’s face it, is exactly why you look at food blogs anyway. I bought an Olympus E-P3 Pen, in case you are wondering. And it’s bloody brilliant. It will be even more brilliant when I learn how to use it properly.

For the time being, here are some shots I took at Ramen Ya.

Not the best ramen in Melbourne. Not the worst. I went here before I read Lucky Peach. So now I am super more obsessed with the ramen. I am aware I am going to have to go to Japan now.

200mls of rice booze. Not unpleasant and the little cup makes a handy water glass – take it home with you.

Takume Ramen ($10).

It wasn’t awful. Sure, David Chang would’ve hated it, but I’m not lucky enough to eat where Chang eats. This is Melbourne. It’s not so bad. Get what you’re given or open your own restaurant.
